Like Paul Bunyan, my father was a hard working lumberjack. My romance with the gift of life, manifested in Freedom To Learn, goes back to my Franco-American childhood and Christian schools attended till the age of sixteen in Berlin, New Hampshire. My widowed mother, a plucky Canadian woman, was determined to give me, her youngest of six children, the best education, even though it meant her going out to work.
I pray I have demonstrated my humble appreciation for her efforts. I served twenty years in the military during which time I earned a B.A. degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha
During my tenure in the military, I taught computer programming, systems analysis and design. I have been known to write computer programs in at least a dozen different computer languages.
My lovely wife and I have been blessed with four sons, four granddaughters, one grandson, two great grandsons and one step grandson.
