FREEDOM TO LEARN

MISSION of FTL

Mission of FTL :
Our primary objective is to ensure that the pro-life story receives equal balance and treatment in the public and private schools, as well as other institutions of learning. In order to effectively promote a democratic atmosphere of fairness, we must explain to parents and educators their extensive legal rights.

  • - Abortion is legal in the United States as it is in many countries around the world. However, it's not that simple, in fact we want to show how legal it really is and what it means to have an abortion. So, if you are pregnant and think abortion is your only option, before you make a decision, take the time to make an informed decision.
  • In addition, and in order to fulfill our goals, Freedom To Learn pursues the following activities:

    a.) The Day Of Remembrance: Students go to school with a powerful T-shirt, literature, and remain silent throughout the day on behalf of the 45 million unborn children lost to abortion and the countless women harmed. Be a part of this national effort on April 16, 2004.

    b.) School Board Presentations: FTL has made in excess of 50 school board presentations, explaining that public schools can now show the pro-life side of the story. Indeed, the Court has even granted school boards the right to adopt a curriculum that is pro-life, pro-choice, or one that shows both sides of the story.

    c.) Scholarship Program: We plan to offer 1,700 in scholarships to area schools. The first place winner will receive $1,000.

    d.) Developing Public Support We have obtained the support of several people who believe that the schools can deal with the pro-life issue, or life ethics, fairly and openlly. These include:

  • Dr. Willke, President of Life Issues Institute and the most renowned author in the world on the subject of abortion;

  • Dr. Dobson, Right-To-Life(see date of publication);

  • Yale-trained law professor, Richard Stith;

  • National Right-To-Life featured this effort in their September of 1999 issue;

  • Jerry Paul, State Representative of Florida;

  • Florida Department of Education; and ...

  • Sue Sifrit and Barbara Rendell, both Chairs of the Charlotte County Schools.

  • - Most importantly, we have drawn upon the word of the U.S. Supreme Court which created the dawn of a new day for education in the Planned Parenthood versus Casey decision.

  • e.) Providing information to pregnant girls.

    e.) Research Base: We have provided "proof" that is extensive and irrefutable, that schools can deal openly with the story of the unborn, and do so with high regard. This information can be downloaded for the convenience of those we serve.

    e.) Curriculum Guidelines available upon request.

    e.) Outstanding videos and books will be made available.
