Internet is the most profound invention
since the printing press. At Freedom To Learn (FTL) we love it. In fact,
we consider it our personal window to Planet Earth.
Through the Internet, we have worldwide access
to colleges, universities, private institutions, government agencies,
businesses, and over 30 million people like ourselves. Can you imagine
what we, as members of Freedom To Learn (FTL), can achieve through the
Internet ! We consider it the best vehicle to carry our message to students,
teachers, parents and all the other people of good will.
Listen, over 30 million people
around the globe use the Internet. It's been reported that as of last
year, the Internet is stocked with over 22 million home pages; a million
more being added each month.
Like a small town that doubles
or triples in size each week, the Internet, has not even been able to
keep up with its police force not to mention its fire department. Hopefully,
one of these days, someone will come along and tame the sprawling beast.
Much good, however, has emerged
from the Internet and continues to emerge each day. Search engines,
navigational WEB tools, and the like have sprung from the minds of university
whiz kids. Hundreds of other electronic masterpieces and very useful
tools are surfacing every week. All sorts of useful routines that can
be used by us at Freedom To Learn (FTL) to put our message across: and
that is, that Roe versus Wade is a dead issue when it comes to abortion
education.
Along the main online services
to the Internet, such as America Online, CompuServe, Prodigy and Microsoft
Network , anybody with a decent computer can subscribe to a local Internet
Provider and accelerate a trip into cyberspace. And once on the Internet,
